2017 bay filly by Kalanisi (Ire) ex Parlez Vous (GB) (Poliglote (GB))
Elusive Polly has been recently secured by Bumpers to Jumpers Syndicate and they are delighted to now offer her for Syndication.
Elusive Polly is now in full training with Herefordshire based, multi Cheltenham and Welsh Grand National winning trainer Michael Scudamore.
Elusive Polly was bred by James and Amelia Gray, who own and run the hugely successful Elusive Bloodstock operation from their farm in Lincolnshire. She’s a three-year-old bay filly with a fabulous temperament, she has size, scope and a presence about her which belies her age. She was in pre training with Peter Hammersley at his yard at Appleby Magna in the Leicestershire countryside.
Elusive Polly has an outstanding pedigree and is closely related to arguably one of the best horses of his generation, Gold Cup and dual King George VI winner Long Run. Her sire Kalanisi was an outstanding middle-distance performer. He was the winner of six of his eleven races and never out of the first three. His best achievements came when landing the 1m2f Group1 Champion Stakes (beating Montjeu) and defeating a star-studded field in the 1m4f Breeders’ Cup Turf at Churchill Downs. At his best he was rated 126. He has excelled at stud, becoming a leading National Hunt sire. He has produced Grade 1 winners over both hurdles and fences including class acts such as Grade 1 winner Brain Power and the Amy Murphy trained Kalashnikov.
The filly’s rich heritage continues on her dam’s side. Although her dam Parlez Vous was unable to race again after her very encouraging third place effort on debut in France, her pedigree boasts some fantastic individuals. The second dam Liberthine was the winner of 6 races including a Listed event in France and the Grade 3, Mildmay of Flete Challenge Cup Hp Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. Her siblings include the Listed placed Bica and the incredible Long Run. He won 15 races including two King George VI chases and the ultimate prize, The Gold Cup at Cheltenham. In all he won 11 Graded events and amassed over £1,500,000 in prize money.

Michael was born in February 1984 and was brought up in The Cotswolds. As youngsters, Michael and his older brother Tom were keen pony club riders and enjoyed show jumping and one day events. His father Peter was assistant trainer to Nigel Twiston-Davies, and it was here the family remained until moving to Eccleswall Court in 2003.
Over the years, Michael has worked/ridden out for numerous trainers, including Nigel Twiston-Davies, Dennis Caro, James Fanshawe and Martin Pipe, where valuable experience has been gained along the way.
